The 2008 model year will unofficially start after September 3. In the USA, that's Labor Day, and the new model year unofficially starts after labor day, when most of the mew model year brochures start appearing on the racks. More and more 2008 brochures are appearing on the racks: more Ford, all Mercury, most Lincoln, all Chevrolet, all Buick, some GMC, but still haven't seen the new Cadillac brochures or the Pontiac. The Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep brochures still are a no-show.
Now that I figured out how to post photos, I will take pics of the new brochures and post them for all to see.
The 2008 model year marks the 39th year I've eagerly collected car brochures. If you haven't started to collect, I suggest you start. It's a inexpensive fun hobby.

2008 Model year starting to appear
Although it's early, the 2008 model year literature is starting to appear in the literature racks at your local automobile dealerships. I have a listing here of what I already have, and more appears every time I stop at the dealership. There may be more out on the racks than what I have here, but it will end up in my collection soon.
I have to admit that I'm not happy with the 2008 Chevrolet brochures. They went "cheap" this model year and cut back on the size and quality of their brochures. Guess we have been spoiled by the nice catalogs of past years, but at least they aren't as cheap as the literature of the 1970's and early 1980's.
Ford, with all their money problems, have nice catalogs for their cars this year. Especially the Mustang brochure......make sure you pick up a couple of these beauties as they won't be around for long when they're in the racks and salespeople won't be handing these out generously. Ugh....automobile salespeople. I'm going to have to comment about them sometime soon.
I'm going to have to write a post all about exotic literature. For years I used to ignore it mostly, but I have really grown to love it and now don't mind spending big money on it. Some people may think you're crazy to spend $50+ on a new car brochure, but addictions don't come cheap!
Literature collecting is just like hunting without the gun.
